at the Age of 24” (aka “Ingres à l'âge de 24 ans”), 1869, after the 1804 self-portrait
in the Musée Condé, Chantilly, by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres (1780–1867),
printed by Alfred Salmon (fl.1863–1894) and published in Paris in the
art periodical, “Gazette des Beaux-Arts”, 1 December 1871, between pages 478
and 179 (see https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k203093f/f564.double).
Etching
with pale plate tone on cream wove paper, trimmed around the platemark and
backed with a support sheet.

Condition:
a strong and well-printed impression with small margins around the image
borderline and laid upon an archival support sheet of millennium quality washi
paper providing wide margins. The sheet is in a near pristine condition with no
tears, holes, folds, abrasions or stains.
I
am selling this remarkably fine portrait of Ingres as a young man, for the
