Note that I have previously listed another etching by Tancrède Abraham inscribed with the date 1868 that I believe depicts a similar grove of trees in the wetland-marsh at Anjou in the lower Loire valley, north-western France: https://www.printsandprinciples.com/2025/06/tancrede-abraham-wetlands-of-anjou-1868.html.

Technical Details & Condition:

Etching on ochre chine collè on wove paper backed with a support sheet and providing wide margins.

The etching is strong and well-printed. The sheet is in near pristine condition—free of tears, holes, folds and stains.

Dimensions:

• Sheet: 22.7 x 15.9 cm

• Platemark: 22.7 x 11.9 cm

• Chine collé: 18.2 x 11.3 cm

• Image borderline: 18.2 x 10.9 cm

Plate lettering:
