“Plate 12”—a cross-section of the skull revealing the orbital cavity, 1807, after an intermediary drawing by Johann Christian Rosenmüller (1771– 1820), published in Weimar by Johann Christian Rosenmüller in “Chirurgisch-anatomische Abbildungen für Aerzte und Wundärzte” (Surgical-anatomical illustrations for physicians and surgeons).

Engraving with watercolour on wove paper with full margins (as published).

Size: (sheet) 48.6 x 32.8 cm; (plate) 40 x 26.9 cm

Inscribed in the plate (lower left) “I. C. Rosenmüller ad. nat. del.”; (upper right) “T. xII”; (lower right) “I. F. Schröter sculps.”; indexed with numbers.

Condition: a strong and well-printed impression in a near pristine condition with no tears, holes, folds, abrasions or significant stains.

I am selling this exceptionally rare anatomical engraving exhibiting the highest order of technical skill and in an outstanding condition for AU$232 (equivalent to approximately US$148.92, EUR 133.92, or GBP 112.78 at the time of listing) and includes Express Mail Service (EMS) postage and handling to any worldwide destination.
