“Intérieur de Forêt” (Forest Interior),1855, after the painting by Meindert Hobbema (aka Meindert Lubbertsz Hobbema; Meindert Hobima) (1638–1709) in the collection of the Louvre (inv. no. 1342). Note that the Louvre also holds the printing plate for this etching; see https://collections.louvre.fr/en/ark:/53355/cl020525599. The etching has the dry stamp of the Chalcographie du Louvre in the lower margin at centre.

Etching with dot roulette on heavy buff coloured wove paper backed with a support sheet.

Size: (sheet) 44.5 x 54.6 cm; (plate) 37 x 46 cm; (image borderline) 30.5 x 40.4 cm.

Condition: a richly inked and well-printed impression with wide margins backed with a support of archival (millennium quality) washi paper. Beyond a closed tear in the lower margin and minor smudges in the right margin, the sheet is in a very good condition for its size and age with no holes, folds or significant stains.
