Boilot (1814–1898)
“Un Mousse” (a head), 1886, after a charcoal drawing (identified
as a painting in the inscription, possibly “Un Petit Pêcheur de Villerville” [A
Little Fisherman from Villerville] exhibited in the Paris Salon of 1885 [see
Beraldi 1885, vol. 2., p. 148]) by Ulysse Butin (aka
Ulysse-Louis-Auguste Butin) (1837–1883), printed in Paris by A Clément
(fl. c1887–1892) and published in the art periodical “L'Art”.
Etching
(possibly soft-ground etching with drypoint) with platetone on watermarked laid
paper with full margins as published.
