“La Grande Odalisque”, c1850, engraving after Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres’ (1780–1867) famous painting executed in 1814 and now in the Musée du Louvre (Paris). This is a proof impression before the addition of the title and publication details for Marchant (aka Alliance des Arts) (fl.c1830–80) in Paris (see a latter state impression that I have listed earlier [now sold]; https://www.printsandprinciples.com/2023/01/pierre-guillaume-metzmachers-etching.html).

Engraving (possibly with etching) on fine wove paper with wide margins.

Size: (sheet) 29 x 43 cm; (plate [soft impression]) approx. 20 x 28 cm; (image borderline) 14.9 x 24.4 cm.

Condition: a near faultless impression with generously wide margins in near pristine condition with no tears, holes, folds, abrasions, losses, stains, foxing or signs of handing.

Condition: a strong and well-printed impression laid upon a sheet of millennium quality washi paper providing wide margins. There is a small restored tear on the upper edge of the image and other minor marks in the margins, otherwise, the sheet is in a good condition with no folds, holes, abrasions or significant stains.
